9. The Thongdrol at the Paro Tsechu

At 3 a.m. on the final day of the tsechu, the thongdrol (a tapestry 30 m. x 45 m. with great religious significance) is hoisted up the monastery wall. It is never exposed to sunlight for fear of damage from the sun's rays.
