Morocco, 2013

These photos were taken during our trip to Morocco in April, 2013.

We visited the "imperial cities" of Rabat, Meknes and Fes, all famous for their kasbahs and medinas, before taking a rented car and driving south through the Atlas Mountains to reach Rissani, on the edge of the Sahara.

From Rissani we drove west, again through the Atlas Mountains, visiting small towns and villages, before arriving in Marrakech, where we stayed for a few days.

We then moved on to our final stop in Morocco, the coastal town of Essaouria, before heading home.

For much of the time, the trip was interesting without being exciting. But it added to our North Africa experiences, and there were some real highlights (in particular Fes and Marrakech) that made the it all worthwhile.
