7. The Pantheon

The Pantheon was built by Hadrian in 119-128 AD as a temple to the twelve most important classical deities. It became a Christian church in 608 AD and is known for its magnificent dome, the radius of which is exactly equal to its height, making it half of a perfect globe. In the summer crowds it is a very busy place.
