17. The Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura
| As Kamakura is only a little over an hour away from Tokyo by train, it is a popular place for day trippers from Tokyo on a springtime weekend. The Kotokuin Temple is one of the major points of interest, with its Daibutsu. So also is the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine with its gardens and cherry blossoms on show. |
