79. Takayama Festival Floats
| Our final stop before reaching Tokyo again is in Takayama, a smallish town in the Japanese Alps. Takayama is known for its Spring and Autumn Festivals, dating from 350 years ago, in which they employ centuries old colourful floats, drawn by hand. The floats are stored in an Exhibition Hall, and taken out twice each year for the festivals. |
