15. Salt sculptures in the Valley of the Moon
| On arrival at the Valley of the Moon we stop at a place where salt "sculptures" have been created by nature. This area within the Valley of the Moon was originally named the "Valley of Mars" because of the red colouring everywhere. But mistranslation over time has confused "Marta" ( Mars) with "Muerte" (Death) and so the tourist industry today often refers to it as the "Valley of Death". |
